Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

Earth Connection Community Corp. ("we," "us," or "our") respects the privacy of our visitors, members, donors, and participants. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you visit our website at earthconnectioncommunity.com, use the ECC Music mobile application ("the App"), interact with our services, or communicate with us.

This policy applies to both our website and the ECC Music app available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

Website

  • Personal Information: Name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and other contact details you provide when filling out forms, subscribing to our newsletter, making a donation, or contacting us.
  • Payment Information: When you make a donation, payment details are collected and processed securely by our third-party payment processors (see Section 5). We do not store your full credit card number, bank account number, or other sensitive payment information on our servers.
  • Usage Data: Information about how you interact with our website, including IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited, and time spent on the site. This data is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies.
  • Communications: Records of correspondence when you contact us via email, phone, or our contact form.

ECC Music Mobile App

  • Account Registration: When you create an account in the App, we collect your full name, email address, and phone number. Your email is used for magic-link sign-in (no password is stored).
  • App Activity: We store which tracks, videos, and community updates you have saved as favorites, linked to your account, to provide the favorites feature across devices.
  • Playback State: Your current playback position and queue may be stored locally on your device using your device's app storage to support resume functionality.
  • Downloaded Content: If you download tracks for offline listening, those audio files are stored locally on your device in the App's private storage. They are not accessible to other apps.
  • Device & App Information (Bug Reports Only): If you choose to submit a bug report through the App, we collect your device model, operating system version, App version, connectivity status, and your anonymized member identifier solely to diagnose the reported issue. This information is transmitted to our bug-report processing service and is not used for any other purpose.
  • Preferences: Settings such as your Wi-Fi-only download preference are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to our servers.

What We Do Not Collect in the App

The ECC Music app does not collect or access your precise location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, advertising identifiers, or any other device data beyond what is listed above. The App contains no third-party advertising SDKs and does not engage in cross-app tracking.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Process donations and provide tax receipts
  • Communicate with you about our programs, events, and community updates
  • Respond to your inquiries and provide support
  • Manage membership applications and records
  • Provide access to the ECC Music app and its features (music library, video teachings, community updates, offline downloads, favorites)
  • Authenticate your identity via magic-link email sign-in
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues reported through in-app bug reports
  • Improve our website, app, programs, and services
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights
  • Send newsletters and updates (with your consent)

4. We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes. We will never monetize your personal data.

Donations are processed through trusted third-party payment processors, which may include Stripe, PayPal, and Venmo. These processors have their own privacy policies governing how they handle your payment information. We encourage you to review their privacy policies:

We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With third-party vendors who perform specific operational functions on our behalf — such as website hosting, payment processing, or delivery of transactional notifications you have requested (e.g., appointment confirmation SMS). These vendors are permitted to use your information only to perform those specific functions and may not use it for marketing, advertising, or any other purpose.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • Protection of Rights: To protect the safety, rights, or property of Earth Connection Community Corp., our members, or the public.

Key Service Providers for the ECC Music App

  • Supabase (Supabase Inc.): We use Supabase as our authentication and database platform. Your account credentials (name, email, phone), session tokens, and app activity data (favorites) are stored in Supabase. Supabase is bound by data processing agreements and may not use your data for their own purposes. See supabase.com/privacy.
  • Cloudflare Inc.: Media files (music, video) are delivered through Cloudflare's network. Cloudflare processes network requests to serve content to your device but does not have access to your account data. See cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.
  • Twilio Inc.: If you provide your mobile phone number at an Earth Connection Community event booking station, we use Twilio solely to deliver appointment confirmation and reminder SMS messages. See Section 12 for details.

We do not share your personal data with advertising networks, data brokers, or analytics companies.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Our website may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your browsing experience, analyze site traffic, and understand usage patterns. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain website functionality.

We may use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) that collect anonymized usage data to help us improve our website. These tools may use cookies to gather information about your visit.

9. Children's Privacy

Our website and services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

ECC Music App: The ECC Music app is intended for adults aged 18 and older. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age.

10. Your Rights & Choices

You may:

  • Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information
  • Opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails or contacting us directly
  • Disable cookies through your browser settings
  • Delete your ECC Music app account: In the App, go to Settings → Permanently Delete Account. This immediately and permanently removes your account, favorites, and associated data from our systems. This action cannot be undone. You may also request account deletion by contacting us at the address below.

11. Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

12. SMS Messaging

If you provide your mobile phone number at an Earth Connection Community event booking station, we use that number solely to send you transactional SMS notifications (appointment confirmation and reminder) related to the appointment you scheduled. We do not use your mobile number for marketing or promotional SMS campaigns. Your mobile number is passed to our SMS delivery provider (Twilio Inc.) for the sole purpose of delivering these notifications and is not shared with, sold to, or used by any third party for marketing purposes. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message.

13. ECC Music Mobile App — Additional Disclosures

This section provides additional disclosures required by the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

App Permissions

The ECC Music app requests only the permissions necessary for its core features:

  • Internet access: Required to stream content, sign in, sync favorites, and download tracks.
  • Foreground service / media playback: Required to keep music playing when the screen is off and to show lock-screen and notification playback controls.
  • Wake lock: Required to prevent the device from sleeping during audio playback.

The App does not request permission to access your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or call logs.

On-Device Storage

Downloaded audio files and your playback preferences are stored in the App's private on-device storage. This data is not shared with other apps and is removed when you uninstall the App or use the "Clear All Downloads" option in Settings.

Authentication

Sign-in is handled via a magic link sent to your email address — no password is stored by us or on your device. Your session token is stored securely on-device by the Supabase Flutter SDK and is used solely to authenticate your requests to our backend services.

No Advertising or Tracking

The ECC Music app contains no advertisements and no advertising SDKs. We do not collect advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID) and do not engage in cross-app or cross-site tracking.

Data Linked to You (Google Play Data Safety / Apple Nutrition Label)

  • Name — collected at account creation; used to personalize your experience; not shared with third parties for their own use.
  • Email address — collected at account creation; used for authentication and account management; not shared with third parties for their own use.
  • Phone number — collected at account creation; used for account management; not shared with third parties for their own use.
  • App activity (favorites) — linked to your account for the favorites feature; not shared with third parties.

Data Not Linked to You

  • Device & diagnostics (device model, OS version, app version) — collected only when you voluntarily submit a bug report; used solely to diagnose the reported issue; not linked to your identity in any external system.

Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the App: Settings → Permanently Delete Account. Deletion immediately removes your authentication record, profile data, and favorites from our servers. Downloaded audio files stored on your device are not automatically removed by account deletion; you can clear them manually via Settings → Clear All Downloads before or after deleting your account.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of our website or the ECC Music app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
